i was wondering is it just me who find SE chargers/accessories have bad connector design? this has been a problem ever since the T610, and even with the new line of K750 with broader charger connector and longer "latches" the problem still remains;

problems when charging:

- almost impossible to use the phone for example to sms cos the connector is so sensetive that slight movements will cause the tiny charging contact pins to shift/loose contact. ever so often while charging and sms-ing, the word "charging" will pop up and cause a delay.

- after a few months of use, even charging becomes a problem as the connector simple isn't secure or rigid enough. every SE user must have encountered the porblem of not being able to charge, having to twist the charging cable certain ways to get some sort of tension to finally get it charging.

- why use those tiny spring loaded contact point? worse charging connectors of any phone in my view, and why use 2 plastic progs/latches to secure the connectors? any sort of connector which only require the user to disconnect by simply pulling is bound to wear out fast. something better should be like samsung chargers, with a secure "clicking" mechanism which does not exert force or friction on the securing connectors. jusy press the sides release and it comes loose, yet remains secure when connected.

i've been using SE phones since T610, K500 and now K750. always take good care of them, especially in the "correct" method of un-plugigng the connectors by pushing down not straight out. i think SE phones are the best in terms of features and usibility of firmware. however, i think the engineers could have done a better quality job in designing the connectors. such as Nokia chargers, but Nokia pop-port connectors have problems too. my opinion is that Samsung has the best designed connectors and SE should learn from good design n competitors.

I agree 100% with this. Its been happening since I was using the /// R520m, then the T300 and now my K750i... The first point you raised is the one that really annoys me.... It is indeed annoying trying to use the phone or sms while its connected to the charger.
Then there are times when I plug the phone in and the charging sign comes up, I put the phone on the table and then return about two hours later only to find that the phone has not charged at all and I have to twist/move/shake the cable a little for it to start charging....

With all that said, I do doubt however that is gonna change the connector anytime soon... they just changed to the new "Fast Port" connector a couple of months ago and if they changed again, they would not only look bad but many of their customers would be furious...

What exactly is the correct way of unplugging ? I thought you have to lift it up a little and then take it out (not push it down ??)

I tend to use the hands free unit a lot when listening to music. I am concerned that I might ware it off soon… If that happens what wares off first?, if it is the connector of the cable then I can always buy a new hands free unit or a charger, but if it is the socket in the phone then things wont be that easy….

We dont need to buy new chargers, SE needs to make them better.

I couldn't agree more, I would've thought they must 've had enough complain to change the connector to a tougher one. I've had times when the only thing the phone would do is keep makinga sound for charging every 2 seconds. It started on my t68i that I wore the headset all the time, so I can talk while I'm working....and since I''ve been putting my phone in my pocket the connector would wear out in the matter of a month or 2...not practical. Thats what I'm afraid of about this stereo headphone for the k750i , the only problem is its a little costly to replace this one every other months.

Yep, my concerns exactly since I connect and disconnect the stereo headsets many times a day… I am more worried that I might ware off the phone socket, cos no matter what getting a headset is always more easy and cheaper than getting the phone connector repaired. Because I don’t have warranty on my phone (I bought it from another country, even though I got warranty from there, I cant claim it from here). So any repairs on the phone is out of my pocket…

I wore out my CDS-60 deskstand's prongs in about 3 months. I'm not rough with, I push the phone backwards to have it pop out, just like everyone else does. Now it's become a bit loose.

The regular charger plug, USB and headset work fine thankfully.

Same thought. I though you actually push it upwards. Or if it's in a cradle, pull the phone itself towards you to disconnect from the prong.

Overall, same thoughts. Sometimes, i actually feel scared that I'm going to wear out my handsfree because I use my phone as an mp3 player. And those headsets aren't cheap...

Same thing as george78 .
And as someone said about the spring action instead of locking mechanism.
Having taken my set (S700) to service Centr, I was told the connector 'inside' phone had gotten rusty but I dont buy it.. It worked a week and now again blickers the Charging sign. Which IMO can really damage the circuits..
Defin'tly a design lacunae..

it's actually the same either lifting up or pushing down, both are the "correct" methods. the connector is symetrical if u look at it from the "front" contact end. so pushing up or down has the same result.
