This is unbelievable. I have owned my W900i for 2 days and already I noticed a very important failiure on the Firmware. In the contacts you can only search by the first letter. When you enter the second letter of a name it will jump to the pressed letter but as first letter of the contact.
There is one improvement already forund comparing to K750i. When you send message that pop up box appearing "sending message" does not appear again despite there will be a very nice small icon showed beside the antenna bar.
When a message is unable to be sent out there will be stored in outbox for further trying by phone automaticaly despite saving in draft like K750i .
Do anybody have a firmware different of mine and the problem in contacts improved. Mine is R5AC011.

Pricewise , I have to say I paid US$830.00 for an unbranded version.
Opening the phone as you already know is very nice with nice sound of the knife but still I can not find a way to add to 3 original sounds for this action and on the file manager you can not assign a sound for this action yet.

The icon is very nice , Thanks to SE but what about the Contacts browsing. It is really crazy.
Can you use other sounds for the opening of the phone? Can you increase th volume? Is there any upadate ?

My W800 also cannot do multiple characters search on contacts, since original firmware till latest firmware I have (R1NA005). I read in some threads here that this is firmware region version difference. Mine is China version and maybe UK version can do multiple characters search. Dunno about W900. But yeah... this kinda sucks.

It has always been like that from the days of K700. Multicharacter search only works for EU versions. Chinese and other regional versions of FW do not support multicharacter search. This is intentional (i.e. not a bug), but I have no idea why.

No offence to original poster here but if you jump in quick you not only spend a damn fortune but you act as a "test bed" for all us people that like to get the phone after a month or two.
Like was said before the search is meant to be like that. Its not a bug. Just a side note but maybe try the phone before spending cash next time

I have a SE phones that are not EU or a Far East version and it can do multi character search like the EU version. BTW, I have a Middle East version.

Well, there may be other region versions than EU that supports multicharacter support. But the Chinese version does definitely not support it (and never has). The same goes probably for all versions made for the far east (not middle east). Perhaps the character set is to complex or something like that.
