> W500i problem with T9 Dictionary

I got a W500i recently and was getting to like it quite well when all of a sudden my T9 dictionary will not work. You are supposed to press and hold the * key when in "Write new" but this will not work. I had had the T9 dictionary set to on all of the time so was surprised to find it off when went to write a text. I have tried to get it back on but unfortunately to no avail. Can anyone help? PLEASE!!!

see if it's listed under the right softkey...
(Menu > Messaging > Write new (some text pages don't access T9 but Write new should))
