Lastnight I was using wap, the phone was charging and I had the headset connected, the phone decided to freeze! I had to remove and replace the battery to sort it, and powered up again no problem. However, now the camera doesn't work, it'll go into camera menu but when I try to select photos or video it goes blank for a split second then back to standby. Is the camera fried or would you say it's a fw issue? Any ideas much appreciated as I sourced the phone for a friend who is picking it up next week. Help!

Thanks, didn't need it in the end. Had found some codes earlier and one was to reset the camera from what I gather. When I entered it, it did nothing which lead me to believe it was a hardware fault. Just put the phone back together. Got the camera working. For anyone who may pssibly find themselves in this position with a D500, where the camera stops working, simply take the phone apart and disconnect the camera. Then reconnect it and rebuild, should then work. Worked for me! I'm assuming that when I had to remove the battery to unfreeze it lastnight, it caused a voltage spike to knock the camera out of action. My theory then is that disconnecting the camera from the pcb allows it to discharge any voltage that may be "upsetting" the camera from working, just a theory, I'm a vehicle technician by trade and just going on a little vehicle electronics theories here!
