I need a advice urgently peeps, my s700i wont let me use my mp3 ringtones for alarm or for contacts etc , they worked last week, only thing i added was a new 128mb memory stick duo, that wouldnt affect it? The mp3's are saved on the phone memory and there is lots of room left. I was thinking of doing a master reset (if that would resolve it?) but wasnt too keen on losing information already on the phone i.e. games. Please help.

are the MP3s saved in the right folder?
can you see them when you browse the files anywhere on your phone?

yep i have saved them in the right folder with the default ringtones you get with the phone. I can see and play them in media player, but when i go to try and use it as a ringtone they disappear, the phone also slows down a little when looking for ringtones. its a strange one this!

go to file manager.
go to 'sounds'
scroll down to the chosen mp3
press 'more'
then select 'use'
then select 'set as ringtone'

hope that helps

if noone comes up with a solution to this, ill check mine out when i get home and see if mine does the exact same thing or not.
could flash your phone to a newer firmware and would probobly be fine.
but u said u dont want to lose what u have on it.
ill think about it more
