Having followed Dr DV's instructions on how to debrand my P910i, I am delighted to say it has all worked perfectly, and first time!! (thanks again for that!)

HOWEVER,

The reason I wanted to do the debrand is still unsolved!

I have a P910 that was Vodafone (UK) branded, however I have an O2 sim. The problem I have is that my TomTom GO 500 wont set up a wireless internet connection via the P910 and I *think* its because Vodafone have shoved in all their MMS and Internet connection settings and the O2 sim doesnt like it.

I hoped debranding the P910 would remove all these Voda settings but when I restored my backup (made prior to debranding) its re-entered all the old Voda settings and they are still uneditable and undeletable. Therefore TomTom STILL wont set up a net connection for traffic and weather updates.

I have tried many things but am stuck once again.

Can anybody help me FULLY remove all the old Vodafone settings? Is there a file in the system I can delete for example?

Thanks in anticipation.

Fronty.

try here

follow those tips but for your phone and MMS...

Vodaphone debranding I have no idea about but...

The phone is SE so the hardware will be the same as anyother SE of that model...

The debranding process should have removed ALL vodafones information...

...as you have O2 SIM it must also be unlocked...

anyway try above and see how it goes

I have followd the above instructions but because the old Vodafone details are read only, you cannot delete, change or replece them.

These details were all restored to the phone after a debrand, is there anyway at all of removing them without resetting the whole phone?

I've had a quick read of dr_dv guide...

It's hard going (but he does say that ).

I think the reason for his method is to remove the "LOOK" of Vodafone (or other branded p910i) from the phone.

SEUS won't update Vodafone phones (or this model)

using dr_dv method bypasses that and allows a Generic Firmware upgrade...

The Phone's still locked to the provider.

You're phone is unlocked and using an O2 SIM

This appears to be the problem...

I think you'll need to go through an unlock and debrand process to remove all traces of your original provider...

...not having a P910 myself really limits my help (if any) especially relating to the Backup.

What that includes and how it's writen...

If there is a selective restore, maybe that might help (master reset ).

Give dr_dv a PM and seek 1:1 advice on this - give him time to reply ~ it is the week end
