Hi, I have my W800i with UK version firmware. Is anyone know how can I have chinese character support (to write and read chinese sms) and also have multi character serach for phone book? I heard the asia firmware doesn't support multi character search which I have it now. But I can't see chinese character with europe firmware version.
Pls help and advise!! Thanks!
By the way, I just updated to the following via SEUS,

u'll need the hk or china or taiwan firmware to see chinese and type chinese.

You cant have both multicharacter search and chinese.
No firmware support that.

If from Asia, did you go to any EU SE site (that is, any local SE site other than the local SE site for your home country) and initiate FW update from that site...
My point is... is it possible, for example, to update FW from SE UK site instead of SE India (my local SE site)

multiple chara search is when u in ur phone book and trying to search for a contact and it will only allow u to hit the first letter of the contact and it will show... multiple chara search is allowing u to enter more then one letter when search in phone book (3) is the limit.

I am in Singapore now.. I got my phone when my brother just back from UK.
I heard not all asia FW don't have multi character search.. such as "Australia" or "India" ??? But does it also support chinese character?
Or is there anyway I can just load chinese character in my UK version?

Hi!! I told my friend about that and he also sent his phone to SE Service Center. Now the Chinese language with multi-character are available with F/W R1AA008!!! Other than that, data transfer problem also resolved.
However, I have bad news to me. Since my W800i is from UK, the technician told me after upgrade to local F/W, the phone might dead and they have never tried before. It will not able to do recovery somemore. So scary.
I thought it is quite common people play around the F/W with davinciteam software?
Any comments?
