Hi there guys

This is the scenario:

I just recently switched from a P900 to a P910. From using the P910, I noticed that it is unbelievbly slow compared to that of the P900 and isn't the P910 suppose to have better ram, etc?

I use SMAN to flush the applications, etc and I DO NOT use any of the internal memory except for about 3MB for my ringtone/wallpaper.

Is it normally this slow? or do I need to do something to my P910?

------

The second question is that I seem to be not able to update my P910 from the Sony Ericsson Site, nothing downloads when its suppose to :S, is Windows stopping it? cause the active bar does not show up :S

Please help me

Regards

Pete

I would do a complete reset (backup first)

If having problems - using a Flash site without doning a Master Reset and at least trying to solve the original problem may also cause problems...

So I would do a master reset (remove battery after for 30 seconds)...

Then see how the speed is / flash...

just a thought, mind you

The P910 is naturally slower than the P900. Is your phone branded with a particular network (Orange, Vodafone etc.)? If so, some users have reported that debranding their phone using the method in the thread posted below has resulted in a speed increase:

Might also sort out your updrading problem as well

It isn't the fastest device to be honest. It's best not to use sman to flush commonly used apps. If you have free memory then all you are doing is forcing the phone to start the apps from scratch everytime. I never use forced close and my snapshot contains all the core apps. Might help.

Some people say some of the updates are faster than others.

Another option would be going to a sevice center if nothing works out...
Is there one nearby?

I haven't done an update (ever) so I haven't seen what actually happens...

SEUS I think requires it software to be installed prior to updates...

...there's a tick list I think that must be answered before the update process will begin.

If all that goes OK then I would assume that the flash files from Sony Ericsson will download to your local hard drive (C:%temp%).

From there the update will take place - you'll still need to be on-line though.

These files (probably 15MB and 5MB approx) will take some time to download - on any connection, so you may just have to wait...

[EDIT]
...if whilst trying to update a yellow bar appears across the top of the browser window then you may need to disable some security in order that the files do download.

Sorry missed cause the active bar does not show up in your first post

Thanks guys, got the update service running now, thanks for the help

I guess I will just have to accept the fact that P910i is slower than the P900, hopefully the P990 will be fast
