i don't know if this is a common problem to all w800i but I im having trouble copying music or any files, for that matter from pc to phone. Usually I do the drag n drop in between drives and no problems were encountered during that but when I try to play the music later on, I found out that only about 2-3 out of the 10 files I copied, reflects in my phone. I tried using Disc2Phone coz I thought it was really the proper way but then same thing happens, not all files I copied in my phone were reflected when I try to use it later on. Im a newbie here and I just bought this phone... Can somebody please help???

i've been using windows explorer to copy music (mp3) or video (mpeg) files from pc to phone. i think that would be the easiest way of transfering.

just make sure that your phone is being detected by your pc as another drive.

update phone to the latest firmware. your problem should then be solved. (It worked for me!)

as above...

You might want to have a look at these post's...

You have a genuin W800 with 512MB stick - check your firmware version...

From standby:

> * < < * < * ( < = right on joy stick - > = left on joy stick - * is star )

The solution may be to flash your firmware...

New W800i SEUS Firmware? r1aa008

NEW SEUS 2.2.10

and just for good measure...

Danger: new firmware STILL has ms bug!

hope that helps...

yeah i tried using the windows explorer 1st and it can detect my memory stick as a drive but although copying finishes with no error, when i try to use the files later on with my phone, no files to be found or sometimes, not all files were really copied.

So if the new firmware still has a bug, i better stick with the installed firmware til the bug is fixed...

hey, how do u check the firmware of your phone? any idea? thanks!

Does the same happen if you put the memory card into a card reader to copy the files?

no it just seems to be when done thorugh the phone.

I am now positivly raging. went to transfer some more mp3s. All wnet well but when checking on the phone they weren't all there. So connected phone back to PC to try again and now everything that was on my phone,(some very sentimental pics and vids where there!!) have all bee erased.

Needless to say I have a very sore hand from where I punched the wall, I am so upset that I have lost everything that was on the damn mem card.

The bug referred to in that thread is when you transfer large files from the phone to the pc.if you're doing it the other way round with disc to phone then the bug is fixed with the new firmware.
