Hi all, I just recently stumbled a little bug in the autofocus of k750, when in low light conditions sometimes the cam will autofocus (cursor going green)..then when i try to take the picture it either returns to normal picture view finding state or re-autofocuses but since the button is already pressed its not possible to take the picture. I am still on the O2 R1L002 Euproe_2 firmware. Is there a fix for it in the later editions of the firmware? And is it really worth changing? I don't want to have a repeat of what happened with my K700 where the original f/w somehow i could turn off shutter sound, then once upgraded i couldn get rid of it. Was so damn annoying >.

I dont think it is a bug.
Maybe it just cant focus in dark lighting.

I've experienced the same. please mind that I have the latest R1AA firmware. It can't be the lighting conditions since this didn't appear until recently - before that I took pictures in the same conditions and everything was OK. One other stuff though: when I had that problem, my battery was alsmost drained. When I charged everything seemed to work great. I don't know if that relates, but...
If someone else had that problem, please report here your possible solutions!

This is definitely a problem with the autofocus not having enough light to focus properly - the autofocus get's into a tizz and won't let you take the picture. When that happens I've found the only way is to release and try again - as stated above by pushing firmly on the shutter this time so it just takes the photo without trying too hard to focus perfectly.

Had it happen once with the W900i too, and that was in poor light (albeit with the LED flash coming on automatically).
Seems quite a rare problem because I've taken loads of low-light images on the almost noise-free W900i camera!

i think the autofocus uses contrast to get the correct focus, so in certain lighting and even some subjects (eg brigt lights on xmas tree) the autofocus fails to work properly. i don't think this issue is specific to the w800/k750 cam as I have a kyocera 35mm that has similar problems with focus.

Correct, it's not a common occurance, and it happens with other similar technology so it's not as if it's a K750 "bug" as such. It's just an example of the limitation of autofocus technology.
