how many of you guys had a problem with the flip.. either the keyboard or the keypad coz my keypad started to not respond then the keyboard until all buttons were inactive except the OK key, I think this is a manufacturing failure at least maybe for the weather here in my country because there was no reason for it to stop responding like that without anything wrong happening to it! and guess what it only happend in the 13th month after the guarantee has finished, in addition to very low signal and battery is'nt performing well all the time and I gave it to the local agent they did'nt fix anything and they claim now that the warranty finished so they can't do anything about it.

P910 is a perfect phone, but i'm not getting a good service, in addition to the climate subject, maybe SE did'nt do enough tests in our climate thats why it gets sweaty sometimes and stops responding which is not the case with other nokia.

I love to have the p990 but I wont put myself in the same trouble again.. therefore I'm going for the N70 not because I like it.. but because its fine and won't face SE problems in my region.

I have had a problem with my key pad too, sometimes when i press the button 2 it comes up as 8...all the other buttons seem to get all mixed up, but then all of a sudden it goes back to normal again so i cant get it repaired because its not always a problem..

@cod, thats exactly whats happening to my keypad.. its giving different numbers and not functioning as it should!

I guess thats why they changed the place of the keyboard in the P990, it was a manufacturing mistake

had this problem 4 months ago. tried everything... updating the firmware, removing the keypad and cleaning the contacts, nothing worked... until i got a new keypad (60 euro) paid for it because the local se service center said that the keypad isn't cvered by the warranty.... but now the keypad works ok

My biggest frustration with the phone is that I can't use 90% of the applications in flip-closed mode.

i too had the same problem and bundled around 3000 rupees to replace the flip and then again the same trouble,,,,,it wont work when its cold...i have to give a sun bath to make it work...what a funny flip pad

i think its becoz we keep it in the pant especially tight jeans pocket where the keys get pressed and remain like that for a long time...
now i avoid keeping it in my pant pocket and no more problems now....

SE needs to adress this seriously in their next phone

Thats the reason why they have moved it up on to the actual piece and not on the flip on the P990. Not so flimsy as the P910 where the weight of the phone is sooo much greater than the flip, lol.
