hello,
i just reformated my HDD on my computer, and now i cant remember what i did before to get it to see my D750i (W800i),
i have installed my CD that came with it, but...
what i want is where i hook up the phone to the computer via the USB cable and i can then access the stored photos and copy and paste them to my computers, but i cant remeber how to do this,
at the moment, i hook up the USB cable and the computer doesnt see anything..

If your running XP should auto detect....... Then will start the Found New Hardwear Wizzard.......

USB devices are automatically detected by XP, even though you don’t have the correct drivers it will detect the presence of new hardware and will start the found new hardware wizard.
It sounds more like a hardware error than a software issue to me; perhaps your USB port or the cable has a fault. Try with different USB ports, if nothing works then try it on a different PC.
Also check the device manager to see if there are any exclamation marks in front of any of the devices.

My advice for a borked usb instal would be to remove all instances of the driver, software etc...be thorough too.
Restart pc and then install drivers only...ignore the software.
Once drivers are installed connect cable to usb port then other end to phone...this must be done after installing drivers.
Computer should then pop up with found new hardware. let it instal on its own and all should go well.
Then download something like "myphoneexplorer" and try that as its very simple software and is a piece of cake to use.
The above is just the way i do things...and it always works for me.

D750 drivers for a W800...
...just download drivers for your new W800.

If you have a yellow question mark in front of “Sony Ericsson W800” things are better than I expected, meaning it might be a driver issue and not a hardware issue as I earlier suspected.
Anyways, if uninstalling everything and restarting your PC as Simon suggested doesn’t work out then try this:
Go to device manager and get the properties of “Sony Ericsson W800” (with question mark) ; on the Driver tab select Update Driver, then point to the installation CD or download
K750_Usb_Drivers.Zip, extract it and point to that location and see what happens.
