master reset will erase all data in your phone including those found in the memory stick, i.e. contacts, applications, games, settings & etc...
gain? you will have a new & clean system, i.e. a newly formated harddisk or drive.
that were the info i got from the others, since i have'nt tried it before. so be sure to backup all your data before performing a master reset!
