I'm looking to buy a new Sony phone at the moment, the most important thing is going to be the capacity of the address book. Both my K700i and my T610 can hold 500 numbers, but I'd like to get a phone that can hold more.

Someone from Orange (uk) told me that the K600i and the k750i have dynamic memory for the address book, which they said probably meant there was no limit, as long as you don't run out of space on the memory card.

Can anyone confirm that they can hold more than 500 numbers (without going over to the sims memory)? I'm not too sure this is the case, as I've had a go on a friends K608i and it said in the address book advanced options that the phone number capacity was 500...

K750 can hold 500 contacts on the phone.
I've never heard that 'dynamic' contact memory thing before.

looks like I'm going to have to find another phone, does anyone know if any Sony Ericsson phones can hold more than 500 contacts? Or am I going to have to go to another manufacturer? (which I don't really want to...)

I've had the same limit on my address book since I first got my T68 years ago, it seems strange that they've kept the same limit on address book size now that phones come with so much more memory.

You needn't be worried about the capacity. Since k750, the capacity of phonebook is 500 'contacts', not 500 'numbers'! That means if every contact has 5 phonenumbers, you can totally get 2500 numbers in your phonebook! This message was posted from a T618

I know, I've had this limit on all of my phones for the past 3-4 years (T68, T610, K700) but I currently have around 460+ contacts with phone numbers, and would also like to sync those that have just email addresses. Even having near to the limit messes up the sync every so often, so I can't use sync without resetting my phone (and losing any new contacts), plus I will need the space over the next year or so for new contacts.

I'm looking at other manufacturers at the moment but can't find out the limits for them either!

Also, I've been told that the P series can hold 1000, but none of these are available on Orange at the moment. I'll look into the W800, though I thought it also had a limit of 500 when I had a look at my friends, and a guy from Sony that I've just got off the phone with said it's only the P series that can hold more than 500 contacts

(Address Book -> Options -> Advanced -> Memory Status will show you the limit)

Anybody can help to mod the phonebook capacity? I'm using K610i and the limit now is 1000. Need at least 1500.
