So.. I just go this in..

What are the odds of me screwing up my phone? I mean I hear how people mess it up ect.. but i will only hear those who actually screw it up.. not do it right.. Has anyone actually changed the housing? If i just take my take and go slow and dont force anything I should be fine? just follow the guide? Any tips?

Any comments welcome.. would you do it?

THANKS ~ DANIEL

which looks better btw.. silver or black?

If your careful, then it is minimal, but with those cheap fake housings, a lot more!

Ive changed a few and never had problems btw, but dont change the joystick if you have a new on, it usually goes wrong after even a short while.

If those are cheap aftermarket facias, make sure things like speakers, mics, etc. are placed exactly where they should go, contacts not flattened, etc.

I've had experience of non-genuine facias, and often found that microphones and things like that don't work as they don't quite fit properly as the case doesn't go onto the phone properly.

btw, I'm not turning my nose up at you for buying an aftermarket facia, just giving you a cautionary tale. You should be OK fitting it as long as you use the proper tools (T6 screwdriver, plastic opening tool rather than a metal screwdriver), and don't use too much brute force!

You should be right mate, as long as you've got some brains about you, and know when to stop pulling something before you hear that *CRACK* sound we all fear.

Of course there is the obvious downfall to doing this if ever something goes wrong with your phone? Gotta ask yourself if it's worth it.

Good luck though, post a pic when ure done!

Since some of us have done it quite a couple of times, don't be afraid of posting a question here when you run into problems or cannot remove a part. It' better to wait 10 mins. for the answer here than ripping or breaking some parts. Other than that try to do everything thoughtfully make sure you have a bright light in the room and try not to lose any of the screws:-)
