Despite having "broken in" my 910's battery the correct way and not experiencing any unusual powerloss, I am curious to know why my P rarely charges to 100% usually 98% or 99%
Just wondering?

Your case is ok. My bat shows 100 percent even if you charge 80 p.

After a night of charging my P900 shows 100%, but after pushing a few buttons, it will drop to 99%, then after a few more usage to 98%. 100% does not hang on very long. The battery is strongest between 35 to 85%. Mine is anyway.

I do not think that is important as there is a margin of error involved anyway.

Interesting. Left it on charge for the whole day long after the green light stopped flashing. Voila, 100% (but as you say not for long)
Leads me to wonder two more thoughts: 1) Does one harm the phone leaving it in the charger for so long?
and 2) does one harm the charger leaving it plugged in indefinately?
P.S. Suppose you have a point Res....I have never really taken note as to where the P's battery is at its strongest....I usually rush to get it into the charger.

I am experiencing this with my 'replacement' battery . . . it does not reach a 100% charge . . . mostly 99%, but with my original one, it does show a 100% charge-batt-icon! There are times that the batt icon on my p800 shows a full white display after I have turned-off the fone then back to ON mode again . . . but after a while, the batt icon shows the REAL present status of the battery . . .

No, the Pxxx's are intelligent chargers.
Leaving the phone charging all the time does not harm the battery.
In fact, if you want you battery to live longer I suggest you NEVER let the battery completly discharge.
If you want to read more about the subject, here's a good reading:

The p910 I have sometimes has a 99% status and sometimes 100%, I found that If I left it on charge about 30 mins longer It eventually charges to 100% anyway.. Although I wasn't too bothered about the missing percent...

If you charge with the handset switched off it charges to 100%.
