Is it worth upgrading the firmware, as I have heard that there is an updated version out. Would it really benefit me to do this?

You will find lot more information under this thread. Making a long story short: the latest firmware fixes a bug in R1N035 which corrupts large files transferred to the memory card via USB. So, if you have that problem then update, else I don’t think you’ll see much of a difference.

Next time do a little search

I am well aware of that thread, I was asking if it was worth me upgrading it.

Yes, it does sometimes corrupt files, but I get them onto my phone in the end, there seem to be a few new issues which will obviously lead to another firmware.

I've updated mine and all seems fine, the disc to phone now works great. Some people have mentioned the odd problem which you can read in the link optiplex posted.

If the disc to phone isn't an issue then you won't notice a great difference. Personally I updated after having to make a similar decision as yourself.
