My W900i keeps every now and then, what looks to be connecting to GPRS, with the spinning globe in the menu bar along the top.

Even when I go into the WAP browser, nothings loaded/ but the little globe(earth) icon is still visible...

Anyone know why?

Nah, no incoming MMS either...Weird huh?

Perhaps its something to do with me having Orange settings on the handset?

And the saga continues, it is still connecting by itself...what else could be the reason for this??

It seems to connect and send out 675B's of data each time.

What can this be?

Anyone? I have checked my email, SMS, MMS settings, everythings fine!

The Over The Air Update settings can be found if you go to:

Menu
Settings
General

First options should be something like:

Search For Update
Software Version
Reminder

Select Reminder

You will have 3 more options

Off - will no check at all
Once a month - will automatically connect to GPRS to check for a new software update.
At startup - will automatically connect to GPRS to check for a new software update shortly after turning the phone on.

Up to you which you use.

This works seperatly from you message settings (nothing to do with them) and works through your GPRS line. There's no option/settings for the OTA Update under the Internet settings in the Connectivity menu.

Rookwise, what you suggest seriously sounds like my issue; however I cannot find that Software Update menu anywhere?

In Settings - General, I get Profiles, Language, Time and Date, Voice, New events, Shortcuts, Locks, Setup, Tips and Tricks, Status....

No Software update???
