Very annoying.

I know its not really a true 'flight mode', but you could access the camera on previous f/ws.

Have SE made it known whether they implimented this mode for flights, or just as a battery saving feature for when people dont need to make calls?

I was under the impression that the music mode was to save battery, people have been calling it flight mode as the phone is not active in this mode.

I too am not able to access my camera in this mode since updating my firmware to R1AA008

make sure you lock the keypad in flight mode before attempting to open the camera lens, it should still work!

hehe I've tryed my W800i with old developers firmware and it works, but my W800i which i updated yesterday doesn't have it!

that's not good! i take soooooo many random pictures on plane flights and the flight mode allowed me to use my phone to do so, looks like i won't be updating my old firmware anytime soon!

Such a great phone. Its shocking theres so many bugs. Although I suppose the fact that you COULD use the camera in 'music only' mode was the bug / unintentional, which is why its now been removed.

Typical! Whens the next f/w out? lol

ya i have R1AA firmware too and mine can't activate the camera in flight mode too

they should put back the feature in the next update.. or release some fixes..

and i tried the "lock keys" then try the camera thing, but it doesn't work

R1AA008 firmware
i'm using k750i flashed to w800i now and i found out a way to enable camera in flight mode...

just start your phone and on the screen where you can choose start phone or music only, lock your keypad now and slide the camera to the side, now you have your camera working

and it will stop working if you choose music only, and press the back button

when u chose music only mode, and camera doesn't work anymore, the only way is to start your phone, and then off your phone and on again, and it should work..

can anyone try and confirm this?

When you press Info on the menu for enabling/disabling the startup menu, it says "Menu where you can choose to use the WALKMAN only, when in places where mobile phone transmitters must be turned off."
