hey guys,

I know this has been mentioned in the big thread "k750/w800 firmware overview", but when I dare ask, nobody answers. There are too many posters in that thread and maybe that's why nobody notices my question.

So, here goes: several people have reported that after updating to R1A they are able to do a multicharacter search in the phonebook, whereas they couldn't do that before. I KNOW that most of you guys can do that ever since you bought your phones. But people like me, who have, say, Hong Kong versions of firmware were never able to do that. Finally, the real question: is it possible by any chance that I can do a multicharacter search without changing my customization? If I do a master reset would that help. I'm generally asking all of you, who claim that before updating you couldn't do multicharacter.

Hope this ain't too long and 10x in advance!

Bob

I can confirm that after updating to R1A, I just turn on my phone, with no 'recustomization' or what so ever, the multi-character phonebook search is now available in my phone.

well sumone here said that his/her phone is on APAC, and said to have added the Tagalog language on the phone. Characters of the Tagalog language is patterned in arabic.. A B C kinda stuff. so it must have multi-char support. tho i cannot confirm, all of my peers have either EU2 or America. But as far as HK firmware is concern... why would they support a multi-char in their phones... since they dont need it that much.

but region wise.... i think other countries around HK need multi-char... i dunno if this help you, but just sharing my ideas.

ciao!

@JwY
AS I SAID I have upgraded to the latest R1AA08 firmware. Still, I don't have multicharacter search in the phonebook.

I DON'T USE CHINESE, for Christ's sake, I use English and since I have more than 300 contacts, I really need multicharacter... Maybe I should go to a service center and get my phone flashed to, say, EU1. I wouldn't use davinci, though.
