I got my W550i from O2 with the contract settings, these are the settings I've got:
Internet profile - O2 WAP GPRS
Connect Using: O2 WAP GPRS
Use Proxy: Yes
Proxy Address: 193.113.200.195
Port Number: 8080
Username: 02wap
Password: password
Think it uses this account in data accounts - O2 WAP GPRS
Data accounts - O2 WAP GPRS
APN: wap.o2.co.uk
username: o2wap
password: password
login request: off
allow calls: automatic
ip address: blank
dns address: blank
authentification: PAP
If not, try this one:
Data accounts - O2 Mobileweb
APN: mobile.o2.co.uk
username: o2web
password: 02web
login request: off
allow calls: automatic
ip address: blank
dns address: blank
authentification: PAP
Hope that helps!

On my K750i in entertainment there is an O2 link with a spanner which says 'Get settings'.It maybe in the same place on your W550.

I'm havin similar probs with W550i. When i got it it connected to wap no probs, but wouldnt send pic messages, after requesting settings by text at least 5 times and not getting any sent to me I called the o2 customer services, they sent me an email with the settings to put in myself (these look a lot like the ones a few messages up but cant be exact) These didnt work either. I was then told to take the phone to a o2 shop to see if they could help, I was told there it could be a faulty phone, altho the staff did seem a bit put out that I had disturbed them havin a lunch break.

First things first...
Contact o2 as them if mms is provisioned on the sim card...
you need both GPRS and MMS on your sim...
Once thats setup you should be fine, if its not it only takes 48hrs to be provisioned...
the settings sent from SE's site work fine...
take it from sum 1 in the know
