Greetings everyone,

On SE-W550i I found two themes that use Macromedia Flash lite animation.

I would like to know if there's a guidelines for creating the Flash animation for SE-themes, and how to include it into the theme file.

Thank you in advance for any help.

you'd need the flash editing suite I expect.

Hi Max,

Thank you for your reply.

Regarding to my original post, what else do I need to do other than getting the Macromedia Flash application?

What I am looking for is a guideline to create a Flash movie for SE themes.

Thanks.

not real sure, but I know the theme is constructed with an xml file that refers to images included in the theme, and also set's the font colours etc. This xml file would call the flash animation, which would be packed into the theme with the images and xml file.

Using a theme creator, you should be able to drag and drop a flash animation to the location you want it in the theme.

However If it turns out you can't import flash animations into the theme using the SE theme creator, then are you sure it's flash animation your are looking for and not just a gif animation for example?

@max & t-shirt:
the latest version of SE TC does not support addition of flash lite. your best bet would be to create a .thm manually using .xml as max_wedge describes. for that you will need an .xml editor as well. i posted your query at m9 to pick those themers' brains as well. GL!

Are you referring to the animated W800i desktop, where the "W." appears on the screen?

Because I thought this could have been done using an animated gif.

yes I wondered too. Peeps with the flash lite capable phones as their first picture phone may not realise that you can have animations without flash.

Re: the theme creation, and xml editor can be as simple as Notepad, but you will need a tar package to pack the theme back up (it uses TAR compression).

@ max_wedge: I'm sure it was a Flash lite movie because I took a peek into the ClubPulse.thm using WinRAR and view the xml file then I found a line describing the Dektop Type.

This description pointing to an SWF file but I cannot found any SWF file inside the THM file nor in any visible folders in W550.

@ Jordan17:

It's not that simple, I'm sure. I see a different layout on the Desktop page. The 12 icons are different in their looks and positions. They are arraged in just 1 line at the bottom of the screen.
