> Hands free on P910i w Tom Tom 5
Bookmark topic
Hi all, new to forum, just upgraded to P910i on Vodaphone in UK and got TomTom5. Incoming calls come in ok and incoming call screen overlays tt so I can accept call. I am currently using the Parrot bluetooth handsfree kit, phone connects to both ok, tt directions come through phone speaker not parrot but calls come thru Parrot and mutes radio. Can live with that, but now the big question, come the end of the holidays I will be driving around making 10-20 calls a day from my car, I cannot see a way to call a contact without exiting TomTom!?!
Am I missing something or is this a design error in TomTom- ie you cannot make calls from the tt interface?
Any help appreciated, btw great forum learnt loads already but couldn't find an answer to this.
Dave
PS am considering changing the car kit to the SE wired kit, will this make any difference?

I have the wired carkit for my P910i and I run TomTom Mobile 5. I can check wether you can make calls or not while be routed.

Thank you skruttet, that would be great, I have ordered the car kit and will be installing it later this week, so it would be good to know if it will work...
Thanks

Hi guys,
is anyone else using TT with handsfree? How do you dial your contacts from within TT?
Any advice welcome...
Cheers

You have to go back to main menu to be able to dial anybody.

Really simple!
Push the 5-way key backwards when you are in the navigating window. Then you will go to the normal menu of the phone. When you then start a call and it is answered it will enter TT within 10 seconds. If you not manage to get the call answered and exit the call, TT will
come back immediately. If the call is ended, TomTom will also come back automatically. Try it yourself!
You can also use the 5-way pushing it backwards and forwards throughout the complete menu of TomTom. You can control the complete interface of TomTom with the key.
Really nice to use it like that way!

i use a bluetooth headset, and voicedailling works fine from the headset while tomtom is running. Im not familiar with the bluetooth setup you have but i assume it allows voice dialling?
If you are driving you shouldnt need to touch your phone at all to make or recieve calls (by law if youre in the UK), so you need to have voice commands for anyone you may need to call already setup.

I wonder if touching the phone with the stylus counts?
