Hello folks!
Happy new year to one and all. I own a *very beatuiful* P900 for the past 1.5 years or so. Recently I noticed that under the rubber cover of the earphone socket, there is some sticky substance. I cant seem to figure what the heck it is. I checked the battery compartment and nothing has leaked. I cant remember of exposing my P900 to any sticky substance as I always keep it in my pocket. The earphones work fine, but I was sligthly worried about the sticky substance. Anyone to help me out?

H m m m, earphone socket and NOT the earphones itself? (if ever might be caused by a 'discharge'). Is the socket has the o-ring rubber type thing or a metal one

I have rubber type cover on the socket. I think I will try to clean it up with a earbud and see

Clean with earbud and smell it, I know it might sound disgusting but at lleast there is a chance of knowing what it is.
If you dont know then I would suggest you open up the P900 to check, just incase it might lead to further problems. Plus only do this if you have experience with opening it

Just a thought, has the rubber on the socket cover perished at all?

Either something has leaked, or it may have been exposed to some sticky substance of some sort.
If you're not experienced with opening it, take it to a SE service centre.
