Is anyone useing the new MSN Messenger 8 now called "Windows Live Messenger" 8.0?..Its still in beta stage and only official beta testers have access to use it,but they can send out invites to whomever they wish,If anyone is an official beta tester could you please send me an invite to download it?

It is available to download from certain sites,i won't say which ones, but even if you do you cannot log into the programme with your net passport as MS have this time quite cleverly built in a fail safe so only registered beta testers can log on.However again a patch is available but we here on esato do not encourage or endorse such practices, but i have also now read that MS have sussed this now and in the latest beta even if you use the patch, you cannot start any conversations...Windows Live Messenger 8 BETA Invitations are also being sold on ebay

SCREENSHOTS (found via google)

Virus poses as MSN Messenger 8
Botnet client masquerades as beta code

Get breaking Security news straight to your desktop - click here to find out how

Malware authors have produced a virus which poses as a test version the latest, as yet unreleased, version of MSN Messenger. The Virkel-F masquerades as "MSN Messenger 8 Working BETA" and is available from a bogus site as a supposedly leaked early version of the software.

Windows users who download and run the malware (given the name BETA8WEBINSTALL.EXE by hackers) will fail to get the promised chat client. Instead their existing MSN Messenger client will start to send download links to everyone in their contact lists in a bid to encourage others to become infected. Infected machines will also become clients in a botnet network of compromised PCs.

The social engineering trick uses interest in test version of Windows Live Messenger 8 – access to which is being auctioned on eBay - to hook victims.

I absolutely detest MSN. I don't know why, it just really grates on me.
