This is one geek’s dream of a concept credit card thin PDA.It pretty much does everything a normal pda phone does and much more only its the size and thickeness of a credit card..you can read all the details about it and the project on the BLOG

It only needs a small processor that does nothing but send the touch and other inputs to a server, and the server sends the display and sound back. Since all the storage is on a server, it gives you virtually unlimited storage for your data, pictures and songs.

OK I like the idea, but the guy says it would make things like the ipod history...how? The ipod has an earphone jack so u can actually listen to the mp3s stored on it's hard drive, I think the practical implications are too much for us to be thinking about in 2006 as speakers would make it bulkier than a credit card (as would adding a earphone jack). This AIO thing would still be cool just as a web browser if it actually materialised though - perhaps thats more 'do-able' in 2006.

Not really...I think we pretty much have all the technology available today for manufactures to make this..but not sure if they will though,yet!!..mass produced epaper phones and devices are only a few years away if that.

That's still the future

But it's hard to believe on a credit card sized device when it was only 10 years ago Motorolas looked like this

excuse my name

But holding that card in my hand, it could seem possible, but only with my vivid imagination

Well maybe but very near future...

It maybe hard to believe but as i prevously mentioned even with todays technology we can build such a device...10 years ago it would have also been hard to imagine mobiles with H/D built in...in the last few years mobile technology has taken leaps and bounds, and now we frankly at a stage that any type of device is pretty much possible.

i think its a very good idea but it´d have to be even thinner than a credit card because of the need for a screen protector or something like that. The access to other devices including hearphones could be solved by bluetooth as mentioned on the text, however, i´m afraid of the interference u´d get if a lot of people began using it,and also other people would have access to your files through wifi. Another problem is that u´d have to pay an operator every time u wanted to access any file, music, videos, etc, since the device has no built-in memory. Perhaps it would be better to include a memory card inside it, which is totally possible having seen the size of the small chip inside of a memory stick pro duo (its even thinner and has less than half of its size). I even believe that speakers could be included in there. However, before all this tecs get cheap enough and evolve even more, something like would only hit the market in 10years, maybe less in japan.
ps: wouldnt it be a cool to have a camera in it also?
ahaha, but thats decades ahead
