(K750/W800)

I own a W800, and a couple of months ago I emailed them asking to enable multiple character search for China firmware versions, and they actually did it in R1AA008. Now, I'm thinking of e-mailing SE again for additional (minor) features/options/functionalities for K750/W800:

1. Video filenaming. I'd like it to work like the filenaming for pictures. Currently, the filenaming resets back to MOV0001.3gp when previously recorded videos are removed from the phone/memory stick.

2. Timeline search. A feature introduced in W550 and is present in W900. I think the K750/W800 need it, especially K750, since it's true camera-like functionality is its main selling point.

3. Camera application: Additional key shortcuts for changing or toggling white balance and or shooting mode. Currently only the 1, 4, 7 and * keys have shortcuts assigned.

4. True PC-USB plug and play capability, which doesn't require users to install separately drivers using the driver CD or download driver files from the Internet. W550 has this feature.

5. W800: Option to output sound thru the loudspeaker when handsfree is connected. This feature is present in the Radio application; I don't see the reason why it's missing for the Walkman player.

6. Shortcut to minimized applications for W800.

7. Option and shortcut key (*) to turn light on or off while video recording.

So, has SE been open to suggestions like the ones above in the past and has actually added features/options for future FW updates for their other old phone models?

in such threads we feel fairly confident that they monitor sites such as this

indeed at a recent show where I spoke to

reps from HQ who were showing me the P990, they verbally confirmed this

this should be usefull too: (for w800)
1. enqueue function in walkman player
2. search function in walkman player
3. compatibility with Flash Lite
4. and something to tell you that it rings when calling someone. (very usefull when you beep someone...call and hang)

i heard SE stopped the production of new firmware for the S700i. how i wish they would also update the S700i's firmware to have it's camera options like the one found on the K750i [macro focus & auto focus, since both features are on the software-side]...

its all very well asking for more features on older handsets (they r older as they arent the new handsets) but SE will want to keep certain features to other handsets so that u might buy the new ones etc...

Things like multi character search arent huge things so they would put them in but adding things like support for Flash lite etc wont b done as this is supported on their new handsets...
