I'm looking for java software for my phone (w800i) that allows you too connect to another bluetooth phone and browse folders/files on the other device, and/or vice versa. ANyone know if theres anything out there?

Mmm... I don't know if it's possible, but I'd sure be interested too!

Well I think this is possible by means of the built-in software already included in the phone...
I remember at least a handful of occasions when I did exactly what you describe using two K700s (preferably at the time) to extract pics and sounds from one phone to the other by viewing the other phone's internal catalog structure and selecting which files to copy.
In fact afaik it should be quite trivial to achieve...maybe it's described in the manual somewhere, but unf. I don't have access to two SE phone at this stage, so when I do I might report back on the exact steps.

hmmm, cool...i'll have to have a look i have 2 old p900's and i know a coupla people at work that have k700's.
Though i was thinking more about not having to rely on the other person using an SE phone...i can't remember whether there was anything similar on my p900. I know my Powerbook does it (though i don't know what phones do or do not work, well apart from se ones that is) and i think my XDAIIi had the potential but i don't recall ever trying it.

I can browse my ipaq's file structure from my k700 (and vice versa) without any programme, however I can't do it with my friend's w800.
Dont know why..

That limitation is for security reasons; since K750, the feature described in k700 is disabled.
That's why I said I'd be interested in a program like that too; also saying I didn't think it'd be possible...

Yeah, this feature was built-in to in my previous phone (T610) and I kinda miss it on the k750i. I don't understand the "security reasons" argument though - what security problem could it possibly cause?

SE thought that you, somehow, would gain access to an unauthorized phone/system/etc, explore their files, and steal them
Real sad and stupid

Let's hope crimbos don't buy S700, D500 and the like then
That way we'll all be secure
Missing that feature realy p!ssed me off...
I'm hoping a firmware hack might work...
...although BT v2...
