arg, have to retype since it thought having SMS capitalized was an all caps subject >
Ok, I just got my phone updated to R5A020 from R2A014 and am already hating it. It fixed no problems that I was having and just created these new annoyances. (I only updated b/c I bought an HBH-30 and it recommends it).

So far not impressed at all, I lost the ability to send SMS to e-mail addresses, faxes, and all those good things...Seems odd because it lets me input an e-mail gateway for SMS >
They actually got rid of the "SMS Type" menu in options! I can't find it anywhere, not even in the text label list...ugh.

Anyone have a fix for this please? I can reply to SMS that were e-mailed to my phone fine, but would like to be able to create new instead of having to have the person e-mail me and save a copy before I can SMS their e-mail account.

I went from the European version to the North American verision I think, being that my phone had German, Sweedish, and a ton other languages before and now only has French, Latin Spanish, and "US English." (Was just English before). If that makes a difference?

Ugh I really like the R2A I had before better

Thanks a lot for your help, this is bothering me like you wouldn't belive since its one of the functions I use the most...

umm...i'm lookin at it right now and can't find it...

I'm going to "Messages" -> "SMS" -> "Options" and all they list are:

1. Service centers
2. E-mail gateways
3. Request reply
4. Satus request
5. Long SMS

Thats it

where did you find it on your r5a?

yea i thought it would be strange too for SE to take out the SMS type. you may have gotten a bad flash or SE really screwed up in the north american flash file. good luck though!
