Just had me a thought and a few people have commented!

Is it very sad and anal that i have my CD collection in alpha order?

also it is sad that should i have more than one album by an artist that that is filed from the oldest released to the newest released?

hmmmmmm i think not, but others think differently? but why? i'd hate to find a CD out of 600ish if there was no order!

well there are two ways of looking at it

my CD collection is organised like yours (I have around 1000) but my DVD collection of around 800 is random.

The difference being that the CD collection is not catalogues by the DVD collection is catalogued with computer software (I use movie organiser btw) and each DVD has a little number on it. This means I can search on my pc and go straight to it on the shelves

nothing wrong with either method when you have lots to search through

i want something like that for my music masseur, IE if i want to listen to A by Whoever i want a program to tell me i have it on CD B.

but ive yet to find a good enough thing that doesnt involve me inputting all the details in!

i want it to find it from the EAN code etc!

actually, I just realised I told a little lie.

Most of my CDs are now actually catalogued as I have put them through Windows Media Player which has got all the info from CDDB and I can search for them that way.

Windows Media Player also has auto playlists that can tell you what you have played the most or what you have not played for a while etc etc

Don't know why I forgot that!
