Guys,
Is there a way around this ? Maybe a 3rd party SMSC gateway and not those web/SMS gates.
I've owned my T68i for a month now and only my Cingular/T-Mobile friends can send/receive international.
California, say cheese !

I dont think there is anything you can do until AT&T gets their act together... :( On Cingular they cost the same as local SMS: USD 0.10 to send or receive. That is as good as it gets in the US. :(

can't SMS ATT, but you can send a SMS type email to the phone from abroad... type : mobile
number@mobile.att.net and it will reach the mobile as a message like we would receive a SMS here in England!

@Eric's Son: Will an email sent to that address arrive on the phone as an SMS? Or if not, then how does it show up? There is supposedly a similar feature on Cingular but I can't get it to work. All I have is my web-based email:

jnonhoffzieg... not sure about how to set it up, I'm from the UK so don't have this but I do send people on ATT these messages as they can't receive SMS's. They do get delivered directly to the phone though just like a SMS instantly. Try contacting ATT for further details. Perhaps you have to register with there net site?!?!?!

Just guessing here: Could it be someting as simple as "service centres" in the SMS account?
@vizion
Welcome to Esato.
Try this: Go to "Messages", "SMS", "Options", Sevice centres", and check if your Service centres phone no. has the international dialling code added.
Like I have +4792001000.
It's just a wild guess but I just thought that if the no. has been put in before you bought the phone they might not have added it.
