My mate is unfortunate enough to own a v3, i have seen details on unlcoking the video camera and more internal memory - anyone know how this is done, where he can get the software and what cable is needed etc etc!

motomodders is your answer, check the site out has all the info you need (and firmware). Your need a cable (the one that comes with the v3 is fine) and few bits of software (most free).
