You may have someone tell you that you can remove it using a program like set tool. I wouldn't personally want to mess around with the phone to that extent. However there are certainly a few guys here on esato that are capable of doing it. Guys that have managed to alter preset message tones on the k700 and so on. I'm sure if you do a search you will find what you are looking for.
It's not possible to remove your operator logo within the phones menu. There are a few themes about that have almost translusant text which tend to pretty much hide the logo.
Have a look at this
this link unless your doing your own themes it won't be a lot of use but at least you will see that it's almost possible without messing around with the internal software.
