What hasn't been established (I don't think) is whether a firmware upgrade could allow the use of >2GB cards....

as always, we want the most storage we can get be ti phone or pc or music player etc... but when its limited by the device then there is little we can do about it and thats just a bit frustrating

actually I don't know if it's one hundred percent certain that the 4GB won't work, although it IS doubtful. Win NT os and later can read 4GB fat16 patitions.

This from Microsoft:
"FAT16 volumes larger than 2 GB are not accessible from computers running MS-DOS, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows Me, and many other operating systems. This limitation occurs because these operating systems do not support cluster sizes larger than 32 KB, which results in the 2 GB limit. "

So basically the question seems to be: Does Symbian v7.0 support cluster sizes larger than 32KB? If it does (which is a long shot in my view) then P910 would likely support up to 4GB fat16 partitions. Due to the space wasted when using large cluster sizes, I'm guessing P910 won't support large cluster sizes. However if it can dynamically adapt to the cluster size, then a 4GB stick formated as fat16 in windows xp may be readable by the P910.

But any SE tech with inside knowledge please feel free to weigh in with confirmation one way or the other...

I'd doubt it does. You'd be far safer getting 2 2GB sticks mate
