okay, now that thats out of the way, do other countries use social security numbers?
mine (in the us) is liek thislll xxx-xx-xxxx are they the same format in other countries??
(me and my friend were talking about it, and were left clueless, just curious)

In Malaysia they have an IC? .. Have to look at my wifes Mykad to see how the number is.. But its 0530 am here and will have to wait till she is awake to see.

in UK I have a National Insurance number which is made up of
AA NN NN NN A
where A is alpha and N is numeric

I bet you do! social security is otherwise known as your national insurance number it allows you too work if you do not have one you cannot work.

Here in Holland we have it too. They call it a sofi nummer, its 9digits long and u get it when u are 12 years old...

Got my NI (National Insurance) number a couple of months before I turned 16. Have never needed to get the card (you get giving it on a credit card type card) out of my wallet ever! (I think)
