I finally got the hpm-10 installed on my win xp pro comp. But now i have this annoying error message whenever I start windows, usbdgr.exe failed or something. Anyone know, without reinstallation of xp, how to fix? I know this is kind of unrelated, but I thought someone here have the same problem and can help me out. Thanks in advance.

There's some other posts about this so have a look for them, but basically you need to download the updated driver from the sony ericsson website as the one on the disc doesn't support XP or Win2k

i've got the god damn same problem yun ... i first installed the ppmmc file that was on the disk but it cannot run on xp so i read all the posts about it taht were on esato forum and installed the files that were recommanded by the users of HPM 10 but noone worked so i erased them untill someone found the file for XP from smc but it still doesn't work ... XP seems to have the last drivers in his memeory so everytime i would install something for my parallel port mmc it will make me error messages ... What can we do ?? my Hpm 10 cost me 100 euros and i have no use of it yet

This driver should sort your problem.

Ok, well I had problems too and the only way I got round it was installing with my printer disconnected.
If I plug my printer in now after installing it works but I have problems in explorer crashing occasionally so I tend to use them seperately now which is a pain. However I am ordering a USB reader which will solve all problems for you too. For £15 you can't go wrong!

Hope this helps:

I've not found any solution that works for me yet, had it for 6 months now and kind of gave up, could go and buy a usb reader but the quality of the mp3 player seems quite shite anyway so i'm not gonna bother. That's 40quid down the drain then!

The quality of the sound is quite crap???

Are you having a laugh?

I think you are suffering from the same thing as quite a lot of other people. I have put this on a few threads but perhaps it needs to be put on this thread too.

Try pushing the jack plug hard into the player....

Voila... Perfect sound!

No not the sound quality mate, just the fact that the connection to the fone is crap and keeps disconnecting every time i move, pisses me rite off!

You need to clean the contacts on your phone. I have just cleaned mine at work with some cloth, pure alcohol, and a tiny screwdriver. Meths or white spirit will do. My contacts looked clean before but i actually got black marks on the cloth. Its a good idea to clean the Accessory contacts too. You should see a big difference. This post was posted from a T68i
