scammers tend to press buy it now whenever they feel like it and will not pay. I have had that loads of times, it is more sensible to put a reserve on it.
You're much safer with the immediate payment button underneath it. Until someone pays for it, normally by PayPal, the sale is not complete.
Most scammers won't do that as they want to send you their own emails saying about Western Union, Paypal etc.
