> P910 maintenance?
Bookmark topic
Hi,
have had my P910 from the begining pretty much. Recently however it has gotten very slow sometimes. Would just freeze for a good 10-20 seconds then spring back to life.
was wondering if there is any maintenance i could do ?
i guess a totaly reformat would be one option but i don't want to loose everything.

clean up your internal drive by deleting remainder files.also transfer images, vids, mp3's and things to the memory stick.
i have about 20 apps and 10 games on mine, and i still have 59.7mb remaining on c.it runs fine.

When you turn it off/on it will clear the RAM that is occupied from the apps that you ran.
With a master reset it will clear the HD and put it back to factory default.

The P910 has enough memory so that you do not need to set tracker to auto-kill apps.
The only thing that auto-shutting down apps will do is make the phone seem a lot slower, because each time you go to open the Messaging app (For example) the P910 has to load it again. If you leave it running, it will be there for you straight away without any lag.
If you're going to auto-shut apps fine, but at least create a list of apps that are excluded, such as Messages, Contacts, Calander etc. If you auto-shut those all the them then of course your phone will seem much slower.
I have yet to hear what the major benefit of closing down apps (automaticall or manually) is. If the phone needs memory, it will close the least used app itself. It certainly doesn't cause the phone to "run faster"
It seems to me this is another myth that's become "fact", much like the idea of defragging your memory stick was. Thankfully we seem to have killed that idea dead.

there IS a big profit of closing all apps (even for the price of slower opening) - battery life!

reformat your phone but first back up
all your files in your PC and use/store only the applications
which you think that you would use often in your phone
