Does anybody else have the problem where O2's Voicemail 901 doesn't notify you of a new voice message?

I've dialled 1750 to activate notification (about 10 times), 1760 to deactivate and 1750 again (at the advice of Customer Services), I've also been told that notification is a menu feature where you can select to either receive a text or ringback when a message is received, and that to select this option you actually dial into your voicemail, which sounds more plausible, though I have no such option list when I dial in. This is totally infuriating now (I've had the line for over a year and a half and have recently upgraded it to a GPRS contract) and it's not any setting on the handset as the situation was the same on both my T68i and my (spit, spit!) old Nokia 7110.

If anyone knows of a remedy for this please let me know!
