It might be possible to play the song, turn of a part in the eq with the frequency that the singers voice has. Our old CD player in my middleschool classrom had this feature. It made the song a "karaoke-version"

Yeah I have heard of some hi-fis having this button on them. Apparently it depends on the song as to if it works. When I used editing software I got some of the vocals to almost dissapear (they went very quite) but then some were just the same. So mixed results, but not the one I was looking for.
