Well, i use a broadband connection called DataOne provided by Bsnl.
The connection speed is 10.0Mbps...
I was trying to attach 2 mp3 songs(9.5Mb) and it took me 20 minutes to attach them to the e-mail....
Why is it so?
Edit: The whole e-mail space occupied was 13395kb.
Thanks!

Hey buddy, the speed of the bsnl will be of the order of some kb/s,its actually the speed of lan or usb thats shown as 10Mbps.And i guess bsnl provides only up speed of 128kbps in 500 plan (256 down) and it could go upto 512(?) depending upon your plan.So nothing unusual.

Also, for binary files (such as programs, mp3, videos etc.) to be attached to an email, they have to be encoded into a text format that can be transmitted via email. This typically adds about one-third to the file size.
For sending big files to people you're better off using something like:
www.yousendit.com or
www.sendthisfile.com
You upload the file to their server and an email link of where to download is sent to the recipient. This avoids problems of email attachments being too big to be recieved.
