I access WAP using GPRS. Is there a way of exiting the browser without disconnecting? Occasionally if I have been connected for a while and I use the arrow-back button it will go back to stand-by with the little world symbol still there. And occasionally it will ask "close all active connections" but more often than not it will just disconnect. It seems to be inconsistent. Since you pay for each connection, I'd rather just stay connected as long as possible. I am with Telstra in Australia. (My old T29 used to ask all the time)
Thanks

I don't know how your service provider has set-up their server, but more often than not, they configure it so that it will automatically disconnect when a subscriber is inactive for a while.
They normally do this when they want to minimize the amount of users logged-on at any given time, so that others can use the service when you are not using it.

Also on Telstra, here. The same thing happens with my K750i. I'm not certain that this is a network fault(/feature) as friends on other networks with the same phone experience near instant disconnection when their browser is exited. It was the same on my K700i, on Voda.
My T65 could stay connected to GPRS for days on end without a worry - saving me connection fees.
It appears to be the way SE are working with their firmware - unless of course anyone out there can contradict this and say that their GRPS remains connected after the SE Browser is closed? I haven’t heard of many cases in favour of this, however.
