as most of u know o2 cust services are utter crap... please help, as id like to make the most of my 3g phone. cheers

I was under the impression that you didnt need a different sim to use 3G. Do you actually have O2 3G in your area as it is very patchey in the UK at the moment.

I was given a new 3G SIM card when I recently upgraded from regular GSM to 3G on O2. I live in north west England, and coverage here is indeed very patchy.

go to the middle of the nearest large city. then try and make a video call. if it doesn't work then i would say you probs need a new sim as the centre of most large cities now have 100% 3g coverage (from what i have read!)

do you have a little blue square next to the signal bar? (not the blue triangle about the signal bars) If you have then you have 3G coverage, if not then you arent.

whats your postcode I could check if you have coverage in the area.

You have full 3G coverage for your postcode.
I suggest that you remove your post code from your post.

yeah you have 3g coverage, theres a site only 2miles away from you.

id have a word with customer services, you need a 3g sim, i think they call them "usim's" dont they? dont take any shit off them, having 3g on your account and having the correct kit to use it are two different things.

Off topic: Does this mean there's a site (apart from Sitefinder) that shows the location of masts and antennae? If so, could you pm it to me?

Back on topic: I have an O2-UK 2.5G contract currently. Does this mean then if I put my sim into a 3G phone, I can access O2's 3G service without having to get a new sim, contract, etc. (with the right settings, of course!)?
