I just got a free PSP with a mobile phone deal and wanted to know how I can save games to the 1Gig MSD? If I borrowed some games of a mate and put them on to the MSD will I need the disk to play the game or can I play it of the MSD direct?

How can you transfer a game to the MSD? IS there a specific programme for it? Cheers

Are you talking about 'homebrew' free games downloaded off the internet, or 'backups' of commercially available games from UMDs?

If its the latter and your PSP is firmware 1.5 or lower, you can do this but Esato is not a good place to ask because what you want to do is illegal!

It depends what firmware version you are using, newer versions from 1.5 or 1.51 i'm not sure which it is, cannot play 'homebrew' games (saved games onto your memory card) sadly.

I mean transfer games from UMD to the memory card and then play without having to use the UMD. Not sure if it is illegal as it just saves me carrying the UMD's arround with me?

What programme do I need to transfer UMD's to the MSD? Can't find it on that link posted - Sorry to be a dud - It's my first ever games console after the Normal Game Boy

the only way to play games off a mem card is to dwnload them and run them through homebrew which is meant to be illegal and only works on the older (1.5) psps. they have started to crack the 2.0 and 2.5s now. also the 2.6 is being started on.
