See if you can install and run these two:

Webroot Spysweeper

Ewido

They're both pretty powerfull antispyware and trojan removers so they might do the trick.

grisoft's AVG Free Edition is a pretty good free antivirus package. Sounds more like spyware problem though...

If you need a antivirus then try Symantec Antivirus Corporate edition. It's the best antivirus program I have tried. It's much better than norton. Just try it out and I promise you will like it...

I backup what gardar said.
Corporate edition is very light and your PC won't get sluggish.
You almost don't notice it, but he's there... working.

Use Spybot Search & Destroy, or Xoftspy. If that doesn't work, try Hijackthis (too see what's being loaded when windows starts, what's currently loaded, browser hijackers, etc...). Very powerful anbd very dangerous.

Yep. I think it's the most safe thing to do.
You can mess up your windows if you start disabling and deleting things

I never install it on friends computers (or install it to use it then remove the icon so they can't find it). The reason being, once I showed a friend how to use it, explaining VERY carefully how just because something is in the list doesn't mean it's spyware. I made sure they understood that some things in the list are CRITICAL WINDOWS functions.

Then one day he got a virus and rather than do a full uptodate virus scan (takes too long apparently) he thought he'd try the "easy" way first and delete everything the HijackThis list. Everything.
