Right, I've got a T68i on O2 and have been able to set it up to check my yahoo.co.uk email account. But to do it I need to dial up everytime, I've heard that GPRS is an 'always on' connection. Does this mean that whenever an email arrives it would appear in the inbox like an SMS? Or would I still have to log on the inbox somehow? And if I delete stuff from my inbox would it automatically update the yahoo inbox online?

And while I'm here, to get GPRS do I have to phone up O2 and tell them I want to subscribe to it. I've already spent enough time on hold on their help line and want to avoid this if possible. So if anyone could tell me the settings and what I need to do I would be eternally grateful.

However, they will appear just like an sms if u set your emails to automactically check them. For example, every 5 minutes or 30 minutes, it was automatically connect and send/recieve, and if u have an email, u will get a little sms icon but with an @ over it to on your desktop (on t68)

However, i wouldnt advice subscribing to a GPRS package with o2 yet as in a few weeks they should be giving details on there MMS packages and rumour has it that there will be a package like orange and a package like Tmobile.....if its like tmobile then you could be getting a lot more data for your money than the current GPRS packages, because you dont have to use MMS data allowance just for MMS - Data is data, whether it be an mms, wap or email.

U can set the T68(i) to check emails using the free dial up 91500 on o2 as well as GPRS....I thnk anyway (dont quote me on that as i have not tested it myself)

Hope this helps

i have now subscribed to GPRS and my internet works fine however when I try to get to my check my email through it I just get a "Finding Server" message for ages and then it disconnects. However if I chose to connect to email via dialling in the normal way it works. What settings should change on my phone?

well I thought I'd just have to go to email, options, profile and change "connect using" to gprs but it gets stuck on "finding server" forever and never connects, what am I doing wrong?
