yesterday i was at a foam party and i was stupid and brought along my phone. well it got soaked and when i pulled it out when the dance was over, it was stuck at the welcome screen. well i quickly pulled out the battery and let it sit since this morning. i turned on the phone and it turned on fine, but the screen is a little messed up, but the part that sucks is the fact that none of the buttons seem to work. when the phone is on, i can hear incoming calls but none of the buttons are working, so i can't answer the call. is there anything i can do to fix my phone? i bought it from goodguys and they didn't have a warranty so im SOL right now, i didn't even buy insurance for the phone through cingular.

I'm no expert on water damaged phones but from what i have read here on Esato the best thing you can do is remove the battery and let your phone dry out for at least 3 days. Raditaor is good but not too hot!! The worst thing you can do is use your phobe when still wet inside so let it dry out.

I repaired a lot of water damaged phones.
Heres how you can do with that.
If your are brave enough to open your phone. Try to clean it with lighter fluid with an old toothbrush. (this fluid easy to evaporate and clean also your phone)
If your are not brave enough:
Remove the battery and put that on the top of the computer monitor (battery down) while surfing. This may take a long time(but safe) or you can buy a 40w incandecent light and try to dry your phone overnight. Be careful with drying excesive heat may melt your phone.
Hope this one will work (it works for me)

I am afraid you need to do more than just dry your phone out. The foam you have been dancing in has gone in to your phone, dryed and has glued every moving part stuck. I'm afraid you are buggered mate, but try taking it to a SP. They might be able to clean it out, change a few parts and maybe get it back to life. I doubt it thoug. Sorry...

normally servicepoints doesn't fix phones damage water or any other liquid.... it's too much job fixing it, and it's not guaranteed it will work at 100% afterwards.... don't know how servicepoints outside sweden do about these things though... but here in sweden the user will be offered to buy a swap unit...

well... the best thing is to use chemicals ment for cleaning circuitboards... if you will use any other chemical, make sure it doesn't contain any corroding chemicals...
here is one chemical for example you can use....
