I've never seen so many problems with people trying access pop3 e-mails, than we have here with the T68. I personally cannot retrieve mail from ukonline, Genie or Compuserve. Now I know that some (many ?) ISPs don't support WAP mail retrieval, SO WHY DON'T THESE PHONES SUPPORT SIMPLE DATA. I have no problem accessing ANY email using my Nokia 9110 (non WAP). Now in a move to move up in technology stakes by switching to the T68, I find I do not have all the facilities I had before (at least not until all ISP's support WAP.
As a last ditched attempt before I ditch Ericsson, (and I know this is unlikely) has anyone ever heard of wap email retreival on ukonline or compuserve or even Genie ?
Thanks from a very unhappy bunny.

I have configured my T68 for both POP/SMTP and WAP to access my Yahoo! Mail. No problem connecting to both.

Hello,
You are very lucky, because I can't use the POP mail on My T68.
I tested all I read in this forum but that does not work.
I think it's my networker (proximus) who don't support pop3 access.
But I know a lot of people where that work fine. (not in proximus)
So I think It just due to the networker, not the phone.

Brisefer,
It is not the case that Proximus does noy support POP3.
I had an account with them 5 months ago and it worked fine then.
I have to admit, i did not have a T68 by then

If you are using your Yahoo! account, try using this:
SMTP : smtp.mail.yahoo.co.uk
POP3 : pop.mail.yahoo.co.uk
I hope, it can help you. Tnxs. ];-P

WAP has nothing to do with T68's pop client. The e-mail client is standalone, but it demands that your operator allows pop/smtp protocol over their switched or gprs network. Some operators bundle all these features together on the same DNS you use for WAP, while other demands the use of special gateway and dns configurations. Another problem is outgoing mail (smtp), some operators have their own smtp gateway users are required to use.
I've two different Data Accounts, one for WAP and one for PC/Mail.

I've just spoken to Ericsson who say something similar. The go on to say that the problem is the T68's internal modem, notall isps like it or can communicate with it. I'm still trying various things including dial type, but still no joy. I guess I need to find an ISP that likes the T68 !! I continue to play with Yahoo, seems OK for others.
Thank for your comments

Hello herboan,
Could you give me more informations?
I tried all I read in this forum, but nothing work.
Always "Server not found".
I know you did not have the T68 with Proximus, but that could be the same settings with an other phone no ?
Thanks in advance,
I am tired to try...
(for info: I just want to retrieve my email from a Yahoo account without always typing my nick and password in wap mode.
I just want to use the POP3 please please please...)
