Has anyone from the US with Cingular service been able to get the internet working? I called their "technical support" and since the phone is not in their "supported list" they don't know how to set it up (at least that's what I was told!) I thought that this settings were more network dependent than phone dependent.
Anyway, anyone out there that has succesfully done this and is willing to share them please do so!
Thanks in advance!
Regards,
Jimmy Moreno

Sorry to bring this thread back from the dead. I just signed up with this board and you all know a TON on this phone which I actually got for $100 through my friend and it should be arriving shortly. I also am in the states (SoCal) and have Cingular and before I have this same problem, would you mind telling me what the settings are? Also, Cingular has teh garbage plans option of preparing for Mb being transfered, is 5MB enough to be able to surf the net on the phone? I have absoloutly NO idea how many bites get transfered say when you "Google" something or check your Myspace... Any idea?

I'm with Cingular as well, located in SoCal. For the settings, just go to the sony ericsson website, then have the GPRS settings sent to your phone. Just click on the support tab on top and put in the appropriate information that they are looking for.

Not sure if that link would work. Basically what I just said up top.
As for usage, I got the unlimited plan for $25 I think, I forgot exactly how much. For a site like myspace, I used 0.4MB just going to the login page, logging in, looking at my profile, and signing out. I also loaded all images as well. This would probably be less if all you had loaded were just text.
Hope that helps.

ok, this is some old info but I think it still works.
wap.cingular is the APN
WAP@CINCULARGPRS.COM is the user name
cingular1 is the password
I don't really remember all the other settings, but that is the meat and potatoes if I recall.

@Sonic and Kinght, thank you both for the settings.
@Sonic, are you sure it's only $25 for unlimited use? I checked the Cingular site and it says $40... does that sound right to you?
Also, for $19.99, you can get the "Media Works" Package which includes 1,000 text messages, unlimited media messages and 5MB of data transfer but from what you said about Myspace being .4 MB, 5MB seems like it wouldn't be enough for anything more than a week of use if that.

Are you sure its $40? I think you're looking at something else.
https://www.cingular.com/media/media_net_purchase
That's what I use, media net. I can go to any website with the built in browser or with Opera. Don't ask the salespeople, they only know that media net can only go to WAP sites. They have no idea...
Its says $19.99 for unlimited use on that page. I forgot I also added text messaging for $5, which is why I said $25.
