Hi!
As topic; I'm going on vacation tonight for 10 days here to the coast area of my country (Argentina).
Should I take my beloved child (i.e. Sony Ericsson W800i
) there? The chances of it falling, getting stealed, sandy, whatever increase up to 50%!! but, on the other side, is great for taking pictures, listening to music (2 GB card...) and most important... impressing the chicks so they'd love me from what I have... LOL
What do you say?

If you dont want to risk it getting wet, sandy, dropped, etc.. then leave it at home and take a R310s with you. It will take pretty much anything that you could throw at it.

Avoid jacket pouchs in sandy envirement.
Sand might scratch the phone when trapped in between.
Otherwise ye its a must have on holiday

I'd take it, but never leave in a bag with sand in (even only a small amount) as this can scratch up you phone loads!

I also wouldn't put it in any of those clear plastic cases or anything like that either, as sand could get between the case and the phone and put those nasty fine scratches all over the phone!

Well, actually, I'm not planning to take it to the beach exactly, at all.
When we go to the beach (from 1 PM - to 7 PM aprox.); I'm planning to leave it safe in the hotel. Then, at night, I'd take it out to shoot some pictures... plus we'll have music to listen to while we shower, hang on there, etc etc....

How can you leave it in the hotel and not take it to the beach?? Don't forget, that the 2Mps camera is a very powerfull tool to shoot the almost naked girls on the beach!

Just when you go to swimm - give it to some friend of you, who is responsible and will not go to swimm at the same time. Take a pack with wet napkins, to keep your hands free of sand, before to handle the gsm.

Mmmm... I think it would be risking to much! I'm taking a GREAT camera to the beach... how many MP do you ask? 0.6 real, 0.8 interpolated....
It's an old JamCam that I couldn't care less about, so taking it to the beach is no problem for me! But the cell... would be TOO much to take care of!
There are so many girls that will really mess with my head...
